Rosemary Babikan

Rosemary Babikan is a multi-dimensional artist known for her
figurative work in watercolor, oil and porcelain. She is a
graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago.

Before starting her family she worked as a commercial artist
for one of the Bell Companies in the Midwest. Then she
transitioned into freelance artwork doing portraits and
landscapes on commission to allow her to be home with
her children. Later Rosemary designed, sculpted, and
produced realistic one-of-a-kind porcelain dolls and was
on contract with the Knickerbocker
Doll Company.

Recently however, Rosemary's interest in the spirit realm couldn't stay in the background any longer.
After suffering from a long undiagnosed illness and losing her mother to cancer, she decided to go
into volunteer hospice work. She concentrates mostly on "Vigil Work" with the imminently dying
patient, feeling so honored to be included in that sacred space of a person's final moments. There is
definitely a connection between her art work and her hospice work. Just like music plays an
important role in providing comfort when someone is actively dying, she hopes art will come to have
a place in bringing peace to the dying person and their loved ones.
